    2022 After Hours Study Hall

Welcome to After Hours Study Hall!

After Hours Study Hall will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 6 p.m–10 p.m. at our Chinguacousy and Springdale branches.*

    * After Hours Study Halls will be closed on Oct. 8 and Oct. 9 (Thanksgiving), Dec. 24, 25, 31 and Jan. 1 (Christmas).

Where is the After Hours Study Hall located?

Chinguacousy Study Hall is located in the Brampton Library Program Room on the first floor, accessible from the hallway leading to the bus terminal at the north end of the building AFTER the library closes.

Springdale Study Hall is located in the library's program room, accessible from the main entrance AFTER the library closes.

How do I get into the Study Hall? Do I have to register?

Studiers must register during Library hours for that evening’s study hall. The Study Hall is available on a first-come, first-served basis to room capacity.

Registration is available in person at our branches, online through our calendar of events, or by telephone at 905-793-4636 (option 3). Please note: you must have a valid Brampton Library card to register and must present your card to check in at the start of the Study Hall.

How do I get a Brampton Library card?

You can apply online or visit any Brampton Library location. Please bring in a piece of identification with your current address.

Can I stay in the library at closing and continue working if I have registered?

Everyone must leave the library at closing time, and registered studiers may proceed to the study hall entrance where Security will check you in.

Are there rules of conduct for this extended service? Is it really quiet?

All studiers are expected to respect each other’s need for a quiet, safe environment with no phone calls or group work, and observe Brampton Library Rules of Conduct. Security has the right to ask anyone to leave if they are not complying with the After Hours Study Hall rules, listed below:

    • You must present a valid Brampton Library membership card and be over the age of 14 to register and attend After Hours Study Hall.
    • Covered drinks are permitted, but no food is allowed in the After Hours Study Hall.
    • There will be no access to the library, library materials, computers or Chromebooks.

Land acknowledgment

We would like to acknowledge that we are gathering here today on the Treaty Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, and before them, the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Huron-Wendat. We also acknowledge the many First Nations, MétisInuit and other global Indigenous people that now call Brampton their home. We are honoured to live, work on and enjoy this land.
